Calendar items on iPhone are not syncing to Exchange

This issue refers to when new appointments made on your iPhone are not syncing to your Exchange account and appearing on other devices linked to your email. Whilst this may seem that your exchange is not syncing calendar items, usually the problem is the incorrect Calendar is selected when creating new appointment items. Please follow the following steps to check your settings are correct.

Method 1 – Check that ‘Calendars’ is turned on in your Exchange settings.

Step 1 – Tap the ‘Settings” icon on your home screen.

 

Step 2 – Tap ‘Mail Contacts Calendars

 

Step 3 – Select the Exchange account associated with the Calendar you have issues with.

 

Step 4 – Make sure that the ‘Calendars‘ button is turned ‘On

 

 

Method 2 – Check the correct calendar is selected when creating new appointments.

If you have multiple email accounts setup on your iPhone, having the wrong account ticked when creating new calendar items is a common error.

 

Step 1 – Select the ‘Calendar‘ icon from your home screen.

 

Step 2 – Tap the ‘+‘ icon to create a new appointment / event.

 

Step 3 – Scroll down the tap the ‘Calendar‘ option.

 

Step 4 – On the following screen be sure that your Exchange Email account is the account that is ticked. Continue creating your calendar item.

 

 

Setting your Exchange email as the default account for new calendar items.

If your issue has been resolved via the previous solution, here is how to set your Exchange email account as the default for new calendar items.

 

Step 1 – Select the Settings icon from the home screen.

 

Step 2 – Tap ‘Mail Contacts Calendars

 

Step 3 – Scroll to the bottom of this screen. On the option for ‘Default Calendar‘ be sure that your Exchange account is selected. Doing this means that this account will be used by default for all new calendar items.
