Prevent Windows 10 Update from causing internet upload issues

A new Windows 10 Update feature allows a Windows 10 installation to seed latest updates over the network, and can cause upload bandwidth to be clogged. Customer’s utilising our remote servers can be heavily affected by this feature, as good upload speed bandwidth is required. Once the offending PC has been identified (or you wish to fix this issue for any computer on the network) please follow the simple fix below.

Step 1 – Go go the “Windows Update Settings” window by simply typing that into the Windows 10 search at the bottom left as below.

Step 2 – Select the link “Advanced Options”

Step 3 – Select link “Choose how updates are delivered”

Step 4 – Toggle the button so that it is in the “off” position. There is no “apply” button needed, simply exit this screen when done.
